Space-themed kiosk software for Multimedia Development class

Built as an exercise for a class as a graduate student, this project was built to potentially be installed on a large touchscreen at a local children's museum as part of a grant they were applying for.

I designed the app in Photoshop and built it with Flash and ActionScript 3. All of the functionality, including the video player and games, were custom built without external libraries.

The app features kid-friendly educational content organized into 3 zones:

  • Pictures + Videos: photo gallery and custom built media player for videos
  • Learn About NASA: an interactive map with hotspots of locations for key NASA facilities.
  • Play Games: contains 2 custom built games:
    • Mars Rovers: tap the screen to guide the rover to pick up rock samples as fast as possible.
    • Space Shapes: match the photo with the silhouetted form
